Let’s Capture our Memories with Crate Paper Storyteller

Hi everyone! I would like to share a layout that I created for Let’s Capture Our Memories using Crate Paper’s Storyteller collection. I love this collection so much that I ordered it twice! I have already created a mini album, two card and two layouts with it and plan on doing more. It’s such a versatile collection, it really goes with anything and everything.

Anyway, enough chatter… Here is my layout.

dont hate me because im beautiful

Here is a closeup of the title and embellishments. I was given those green and cream vintage buttons by a very generous lady at a crop. She had a big bag of buttons that she was giving away and I spotted them right away and immediately thought of this line. I was super lucky to be at the right place at the right time. The other buttons are from Crate Paper.

In this picture you can get a better view of the hand stitching that I did on the scissors.

Abroad with Paper Issues

The current theme at Paper Issues is ‘Abroad’ in honour of Studio Calico’s Abroad Collection. Since I didn’t have any to play with, I decided to go with the travel theme instead, and you can do that too if you like! Cassie is offering up some great Studio Calico goodies to one lucky winner on the Paper Issues Blog.

I created a mini book about my recent Caribbean Cruise. It was a lot of fun! No kids, just me and hubby!

The first inside pages. The left side is the day at sea, my least favourite day on the trip. On the right we are dining in a restaurant in St. Lucia.

Snorkeling! I thought that I would try it out for about 20 minutes and then bail, but I LOVED it! We did a lot of that on the trip. On the left is St. Thomas with my buddy the sea turtle and on the right is St. Martin.

Win some October Afternoon Farmhouse at The Paper Variety!

Happy New Year !Time to ring in the new year with a new challenge {and new format!} at The Paper Variety! We hope you’ll join us in our 2012 resolutions to create more :)

Our first January challenge is a color challenge!

That’s right, black and white with a *kiss* of color! Your project should be mostly black and white; with just a “pop” of a third color. Our prize for this challenge is the “Farmhouse” collection by October Afternoon!

Find out more, and enter the challenge over at The Paper Variety! I’m looking forward to seeing what you create!

I really loved this Black & White challenge! Here’s what I created. I just picked up Lily Bee’s Head Over Heels Collection through My Scrapbook Nook’s January Kit and it was so appropriate for a black and white theme! I also used papers by Crate Paper and Pretty Little Studio. To add to the black and white with a splash of colour theme, I edited my photos to black and white, but I left my daughter’s red outfit and her striking blue eyes in colour. Her eyes are so striking as it is, but with this type of treatment, they really stand out! The papers from Pretty Little Studio are digital papers that I downloaded from their Website and printed at home – super convenient!

Love Never Fails

I stamped my red heart with red paint and a foam stamp by Donna Downey on a transparency, and I added it to the layout on the reverse (unstamped side) where the colour was more consistent. I added a bling flourish by Prima on top and wrapped some black twine by May Arts around the heart. I also used Maraschino twine by The Twinery, white ribbon with bling by Harmonie and black and white striped ribbon by My Mind’s Eye. The ribbon slider is from my local scrapbooking store, Scrapbook Queens.

For my journalling, I incorporated the strip from the bottom of the paper into my sentence. The background paper is called “Smitten” from the “Head Over Heels” line, and that became part of my sentence. The rest of the sentence is made up of stickers by Glitz and Basic Grey.

Nine ladies dancing… I think that they were dancing because they won some RAK from My Scrapbook Nook’s friends!

Do you want to WIN this, maybe? Up for grabs is this lovely kit with  Emma’s Shoppe by Crate Paper. Leave me a comment and I will pick one lucky winner on December 26. I will leave the comments open until December 25.

Crate paper scrapbooking giveaway

Why am I having another giveaway you ask? Two reasons, one it’s the holiday season and I’m in the gift giving mood. Two, A kit club that I am a part of, and really enjoy being a part of I might add, is hosting an ‘Advent Calendar’ from the 1st of December to the 25th of December. 25 friends and DT members of My Scrapbook Nook (I’m a friend) are posting a giveaways on their blog each day, leading up to Christmas Day, today is my turn. The Grand Finale will be on Leah Killian’s Blog. Make sure you stop by because she is giving away a 3 month subscription to the Nook (January to March, 2012)! How awesome would that be to win? The prize value is likely around $90!!! She will announce the winner on December 25.

To prove how ‘festive’ I’m feeling here is a Christmas card. This one was created using Echo Park’s Season’s Greetings papers and embellishments, The Twinery’s baker’s twine, ribbons from May Arts and Webster’s Pages, micro-fine glitter from Glitter Ritz and American Crafts cardstock.

Crate Everyday Challenge!

I’m so thrilled, I entered the Crate Everyday Challenge challenge this month and was featured on their Blog today! Crate is my favourite paper company, so this is quite the honour for me. The theme was “Thanks” and I am very thankful indeed! I’m going to be smiling ALL DAY!

Here is my layout. I used Crate Paper’s Farmhouse line.

Thankful-for-time-together

Here’s a close up of the doilies and the Twinery twine tied around one of my pictures. The Crate Paper chipboard button is holding the twine in place.  I fussy cut the flowers and used pop dots to give them depth.
standouts

Here you can see the misting in the background a little better. I used a Crafter’s Workshop template and a gold Perfect Pearls Mist on cream cardstock. It’s very subtle, but I needed something subtle to offset the other bold colours.

Thankful for

The doily die cuts behind the Crate Paper rosettes were cut with my Silhouette Cameo.
Thank you for
