The Paper Variety’s Black & White Challenge

Join us on The Paper Variety for a Challenge!

You could win this awesome prize with October Afternoon’s Farmhouse line!

I really loved this  challenge! I picked up Lily Bee’s Head Over Heels Collection from the January My Scrapbook Nook kit and it was so appropriate for a black and white theme! I also used papers by Crate Paper and Pretty Little Studio. To add to the black and white with a splash of colour theme, I edited my photos to black and white, but I left my daughter’s red outfit and her striking blue eyes in colour. Her eyes are so striking as it is, but with this type of treatment, they really stand out!

I stamped my red heart with red paint and a foam stamp by Donna Downey on a transparency, and I added it to the layout on the reverse (unstamped side) where the colour was more consistent. I added a bling flourish by Prima on top and wrapped some black twine by May Arts around the heart. I also used Maraschino twine by The Twinery, white ribbon with bling by Harmonie and black and white striped ribbon by My Mind’s Eye. The ribbon slider is from my local scrapbooking store, Scrapbook Queens.

For my journalling, I incorporated the strip from the bottom of the paper into my sentence. The background paper is called “Smitten” from the “Head Over Heels” line, and that became part of my sentence. The rest of the sentence is made up of stickers by Glitz and Basic Grey.

Here is more of the mini book that I was in a tizzy to finish for my husband’s Grandmother before Christmas. I got it done in time and she loved it! She told me that she is going to try to live as long as possible in order to receive a new mini book every year at Christmas! Funny, because these mini books are taking years off of my life! LOL!

On The 9th Day of Christmas My Scrapbook Nook gave to me…

Nine ladies dancing… I think that they were dancing because they won some RAK from My Scrapbook Nook’s friends!

Do you want to WIN this, maybe? Up for grabs is this lovely kit with  Emma’s Shoppe by Crate Paper. Leave me a comment and I will pick one lucky winner on December 26. I will leave the comments open until December 25.

Crate paper scrapbooking giveaway

Why am I having another giveaway you ask? Two reasons, one it’s the holiday season and I’m in the gift giving mood. Two, A kit club that I am a part of, and really enjoy being a part of I might add, is hosting an ‘Advent Calendar’ from the 1st of December to the 25th of December. 25 friends and DT members of My Scrapbook Nook (I’m a friend) are posting a giveaways on their blog each day, leading up to Christmas Day, today is my turn. The Grand Finale will be on Leah Killian’s Blog. Make sure you stop by because she is giving away a 3 month subscription to the Nook (January to March, 2012)! How awesome would that be to win? The prize value is likely around $90!!! She will announce the winner on December 25.

To prove how ‘festive’ I’m feeling here is a Christmas card. This one was created using Echo Park’s Season’s Greetings papers and embellishments, The Twinery’s baker’s twine, ribbons from May Arts and Webster’s Pages, micro-fine glitter from Glitter Ritz and American Crafts cardstock.

It’s Giveaway time!

This past month has been crazy busy and I wanted to do a giveaway in October, but just didn’t quite get to it. I apologize for that! Don’t hate me! ;-)

I recently purchased the Sassafras box through their online box sale. Needless to say, my scraproom is now OVERFLOWING with Sassafras goodies! I think that I may have overdid it a bit. I tend to hoard stuff that’s either hard to get or will be discontinued. Sassafras falls into the second category, sadly. I will miss them. However, I still don’t need this much of their paper, so I’m going to share with one of my lucky readers! Here’s what you could win:

All you have to do is:

1. Follow me either through Networked Blogs or Google Friend Connect (look on the right hand side of my Blog). If you already follow, skip this step (I like to state the obvious! LOL!)

2. Leave me comment — anything you feel like…

3. For extra entries, tweet about my contest or share it on Facebook (Leave me another comment to tell me that you did).

4. Sit back and wait… I will announce the winner on Dec. 1

Good luck!

Thanks for playing along everyone, and also for following! Don’t forget that there will be another giveaway in October. I plan on doing them monthly!

In the meantime, to get you in the mood for Halloween, here are some witch hats that I created using We R Memory Keepers and K&Company paper, along with a lot of ribbon and cute little embellishments. I got most of my supplies, including the cardboard hats from Michaels. My plan is to put the hats on top of some pumpkins.

Giveaway! Do you want to win some cool scrapbooking stuff?

I started my blog only 6 months ago, and I can’t believe how much it’s grown in such a short period of time. I’m looking forward to many years of blogging, sharing and reading about everything scrapbook related. I have made new friends online and in person, gained insight, learned a lot of new techniques and fallen in love with products that I didn’t know about before. I  have grown creatively by leaps and bounds, and I hope to continue to do so. It’s true that a Blog is a lot of work and commitment. There is a lot of planning, sitting down to create something worth looking at, editing and so on, but I love this hobby and I love sharing information about it. So now, without further ado, my first monthly giveaway!

The winner will receive their choice of either a Crafting Kit, Upcycle by Cosmo Cricket, or a $15 gift card to the scrapbooking store of their choice.
