I got the frame from The Dollar Store. It is made of metal and you can change out the pictures by placing them on the frame with magnets. I liked the idea, I just found that the frame was a tad on the ugly side. Here’s a before shot.

First, I covered the whole thing in three different patterned papers. To get the outline, I traced the frame onto the paper and then cut it out. Here’s a tip about tracing items, to get as close to the shape of the item as possible, use a mechanical pencil. You can get a much tighter outline with one of these than you can with a regular pencil or a pen.

I added the buttons and burlap twine to the right side of the frame by stringing the twine through one button, gluing it down with a glue gun and then stringing the other button through the far side of the twine and gluing that down with the glue gun. See the photos for a visual.

Please pardon my very yucky looking glue gun!

Here is a close up of the twine and button treatment. This treatment would also look great with a little Maraschino Baker’s Twine from The Twinery.

Here’s my take on Diana’s fabulous sketch.

I used American Crafts’ Amy Tangerine Sketchbook line. The papers and embellishments, along with the hot pink Prima flower, all came from Scrapbook Queens in Mississauga, Ontario.

Here is a closeup of the title and embellishments. I was given those green and cream vintage buttons by a very generous lady at a crop. She had a big bag of buttons that she was giving away and I spotted them right away and immediately thought of this line. I was super lucky to be at the right place at the right time. The other buttons are from Crate Paper.

In this picture you can get a better view of the hand stitching that I did on the scissors.

How to make a Pretty Little Tri-Fold Card

• For your card base, cut a piece of cardstock to 12” X 5.5”
• On a score board, such as ScorePal or The Martha Steward Scoreboard, score your card base at 2”, 4”, 8” and 10” (see the template for a visual reference).
• Using your straight cutter, cut a slit in your card base lengthwise from the 2” score line to the 10” score line 1.5” inches in from the side. Repeat on the other side of the card.
• Next, start creating the folds as per the template. The key is to always fold in the opposite direction than your previous fold. Your folded card base should look like this.
• Now you will need to cover the card base with some pretty patterned papers. For the card front, cut a piece of patterned paper to 4” X 5.5”. On bottom right hand corner of the short side, cut out a rectangle that’s 1.5” x 2”. Repeat on the top right hand corner. Your patterned paper should look like the diagram below. Adhere the patterned paper to the front of the card.
• The long skinny strips in the middle at the top and bottom of the card base are next. Select some Pretty Little Studio patterned paper and cut two strips at 1.5” wide. The length of the patterned paper is already 8”, a perfect fit. Score the strips on your scoreboard at 2” and 6”. The score lines will match the ones on the card. Adhere these to the card base as well.
• Cut a piece of patterned paper to 4” x 2.5” for the center panel of the card. Adhere the paper to the center panel.
• Now, decorate your card! On my card, I added a Bingo card to the front panel on an angle. On top of that, I adhered a clown from the Clowns Paper cutouts using 3D foam tape. I added an epoxy sticker on top of a number tag. I cut around the clown’s right hand and added the number tag between the star and the clown’s hand. Note that anyof the Pretty Little Studio Vintage Cutouts would look great on this type of card.
• Last, I cut a piece of craft wire to about 3” long. I pierced two tiny holes in each of the garland flags. Last I adhered a gold toned embellishment to the top of the wire to make it look like a flag pole and I adhered it to the card.

I made the pink flower out of a long piece of pink ribbon and some double sided tape. The beige flower on the bottom left was made out of flower layers die cut from an old book. I would just like to thank my friend Jody in Winnipeg for sending me this card kit! Much appreciated.

I created a mini book about my recent Caribbean Cruise. It was a lot of fun! No kids, just me and hubby!

The first inside pages. The left side is the day at sea, my least favourite day on the trip. On the right we are dining in a restaurant in St. Lucia.

Snorkeling! I thought that I would try it out for about 20 minutes and then bail, but I LOVED it! We did a lot of that on the trip. On the left is St. Thomas with my buddy the sea turtle and on the right is St. Martin.
